Use a Pre-Fab E-Commerce Product to Run Your Store

Ready for the good news? While there are a lot of moving parts and some heavy lifting you'll have to do to get your store up and running, programming isn't likely to be one of the areas you'll need to worry much about. There are plenty of services that will help you get your store off the ground. You won't need to write any programming code or know any programming languages.

A Google search for the term “e-commerce store” brings up a number of qualified options, such as Shopify (www.shopify.com ) and Volusion (www.volusion.com ). Both will provide you with a number of the services you need. Typically, these service providers will offer you a few bundles to choose from, depending on your needs. Volusion, for example, offers five packages (Mini, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) ranging in price from $15 per month to $195 per month (at the time of this writing), depending on how large your store is and which services you require. Smaller packages limit you to fewer products and fewer services, while larger packages may allow an unlimited number of products and services including ratings and reviews technology, coupon-code redemption, points/rewards programs, and more. As you're getting your store started, you'll likely be able to start with a relatively small package (and save some fee expenses); you can upgrade to larger packages as your store grows.

Most of these online store providers will give you the opportunity to lay out the site and design the pages to create a unique entity. You can upload your own logo, determine the page background designs, and indicate how you want your products to be presented. They'll also allow you to upload your product images and descriptions into your own database and enter how many products are available for sale along with their price, discounts—everything you'll need to make the store your own.
