Set Up a Merchant Account

This is, in all honesty, probably the least fun part of generating revenue through e-commerce. (I'm not going to lie, I really don't even want to write about it.) But setting up a merchant account is something that has to be done. A merchant account is basically a type of bank account that will allow your business to accept and process payments from your customers via credit or debit cards. Here's what you'll have to do to set one up:

Don't be surprised if you need to provide a lot of personal information during the application process, as well as your business account info such as your accounts routing and account number. The process, quite honestly, sucks.
